Real Estate is Trending Younger

According to the 2016 National Association of REALTORS Member Profile released last month, the median age of REALTORS is decreasing. The report found that the median age of a REALTOR decreased from 57 in 2014 to 53 in 2015, marking the lowest median age of REALTOR professionals since 2008.

The increase in younger real estate professionals joining the organization reflects the larger trend of the American workforce getting younger. In fact, a recent PEW Research study found that millennials make up more than one in three workers in the United States.

This Realtor Magazine Online article dives into the findings a bit further, highlighting other insights from the annual report as well – including the fact that 75% of REALTORS reported using social media, up from 65% the year before.
