According to a recent article on Bloomberg.com, “One of three house hunters said they preferred a three-car garage…[compared] to 51 percent who wanted a two-car garage, and 10 percent of respondents who said room for one vehicle was enough.” The article reports on a study released by the National Association of Home Builders, which also found that nearly a quarter of homes built in 2015 had garages for three or more cars.
However, these garages aren’t being used solely for cars – they’re often being converted into home offices or in-law apartments – and the households that have the space may or may not have the cars to fill them. Learn more about the study here.
